Joule Effect

The Joule effect is the conversion of electrical energy into thermal energy through ohmic resistance. When the voltage travels between the two points of the conductor it creates an electrical field. The charged particles collide within the field and create kinetic energy and therefore further translates to thermal energy within the conductor. This constitutes energy dispersion and furthermore, line loss.
