What is Over Voltage?

The meaning of over voltage can be described as too much current flowing into a line or device. The overflow of current in the device can be caused by the ambient surrounds (lightning/weather),  and impulse switching. Over Voltage can also be caused by arcs in the system, faulty wiring, insulation failure and etc. causing the internal components to fail within the system.
